There are a host of resources out there but let me give you a few tips to start. First, check out (not .com, .org, or any other dot). This is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. You will not be able to begin filling it out until January 1 but it has resources, worksheets and info that is critical. One step you must complete is to obtain a PIN. This is a number (much like an ATM PIN) that you use to electronically sign your application. The other thing is to get your taxes and the FAFSA done as soon as possible in 2008.The FAFSA is one of your major sources for grants and loans from the college you apply to.

For scholarships, there are tons of websites, books, and opportunties out there. You should start applying for scholarhsips now. I recocmend because it is free and it trys to link you with scholarships that match the profile you enter when you sign up. You should recieve a couple e-mails a day once you register. about 75% of the scholarships may not match you exactly, but look for one's that do and go for it. You can also see if the college(s) you are applying for have their own scholarships. You can often fill out one application for several scholarships. Finally, check with your employer or local community orginizations to see if they offer private scholarhsips or assistance.

As for loans, the schools you apply for will often offer you low rate student loans. always go for a subsidized loan if possible. This means that you will not have to make any payments AND the loan will not accrue interest until 6 months after you leave school. In other words, a subsidized loan will not effect your monthly bills until after you finish. Not everyone can qualify for these loans though. If you do not get offers from the colleges for loans, you can always get student loans from any financial institution or bank, but there may be more fees and higher interest rates.
